TrueScribe
Turn recordings into text you can work with
Local transcription software that converts interviews, meetings, lectures, podcasts and videos into editable text on Windows and Linux.
About this launch

TrueScribe is a desktop application for Windows and Linux that transcribes audio and video recordings locally on your machine. It converts interviews, meetings, lectures, podcasts and videos into editable text without uploading content to cloud servers.
The software includes transcription with automatic speaker identification and naming, local translation to 25 languages, AI-powered research over transcripts, and batch processing of multiple files. All processing happens on your device by default, with Whisper models downloaded once for offline use.

Shopper questions
Does my audio leave my computer?
Local processing keeps your audio and transcripts on your machine. If you choose a cloud model or remote endpoint, the content needed for that operation is sent to that provider. Downloads, media links, licence checks and error reporting also use the network.
Which languages can it transcribe?
TrueScribe uses Whisper models, which cover a wide range of languages. It can detect the spoken language automatically or use the language you select.
Do I need a powerful graphics card?
No. TrueScribe runs on the CPU and can use a Vulkan runtime when your hardware supports it. The suggested model is matched to the machine it runs on, and faster hardware mainly means faster results.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the models you use have been downloaded. The first transcription needs a connection to fetch the selected model.
Is Pro a subscription?
No. Pro is a one-time purchase.
