How does the companion read and interpret the passages?
The companion is an AI large language model that reads from a depth-psychological perspective, treating the stories as compressed wisdom about how to live. It reads the characters as patterns as much as people, places as inner states, and wrestles with hard passages instead of smoothing them. What translation of the Bible does the app use?
The app uses the World English Bible, a modern-English revision of the 1901 American Standard Version completed in 2020 and placed in the public domain. It reads close to other well-known translations because it comes from the same Hebrew and Greek sources.
