About this launch
Melo is a free guide to sounds and music that already exist on the internet — rain and ocean recordings, ASMR textures, ambient music, lo-fi and steady noise. It's a side project with no accounts, no ads and no paid features.
Every sound links to its original page, credits its creator where known, and shows the license as stated by the source. Melo doesn't download, copy or rehost recordings. Users can browse sounds by mood categories like Sleep, Focus, Nature, Ambient, ASMR, Lo-fi and White Noise, and play them within Ambient Worlds — themed visual environments that play while sounds continue.

How does Melo play sounds if it doesn't rehost them?
Melo plays sounds in three ways: directly from openly licensed or public-domain files streamed from the source's own servers, through the provider's official embedded player (like SoundCloud or Bandcamp), or by linking out to the original page when neither direct play nor embedded players are permitted.
What data does Melo collect?
Melo uses anonymous analytics to measure page popularity and site speed, but does not use cookies, track across sites, or collect personal data. Each browser gets a random ID stored as a salted hash for upvoting; a salted hash of network address is kept for about 20 minutes to prevent spam.
Does Melo make money from the sounds on its platform?
No. Melo makes no money from the sounds and music on it: no ads, no subscriptions, no paid features, no sponsors and no affiliate links.
What should I do if a credit is wrong or I want a sound removed?
If a credit or license is wrong, or you're a creator who'd like a sound removed, email hello@melo.today with a link to the sound page. Removal requests from rights holders are handled first.
