About this launch

echo99 records calls on your Mac entirely locally, capturing your microphone and system audio as separate tracks. It transcribes conversations in 25 European languages and automatically labels speakers by voice, recognizing recurring people across calls. The app creates summaries with key points and action items using a language model that runs on your Mac. All recordings, transcripts, and speaker labels stay on your Mac as plain files—no bot joins your call, no audio is uploaded, and no account or subscription is required.

Shopper questions
Is echo99 free?
Yes, echo99 is a free download with no account, no signup, and no subscription required.
Does echo99 join my calls as a bot?
No. echo99 never joins a meeting. It records your microphone and your Mac's audio output locally, so there is no bot participant, no invite, and nothing added to the call itself.
Does my audio ever leave my Mac?
No. Recording, transcription, and speaker labeling all run on your Mac. The app has limited telemetry: only an anonymous install ID sent at launch. Your audio and transcripts are never uploaded.
Which Macs does echo99 support?
echo99 requires macOS 14.4 or later and works on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs, with fastest on-device transcription on Apple silicon.
Can echo99 record calls automatically?
Yes. Turn on Auto-record calls once from the menu bar and echo99 will start recording automatically when another Mac app uses your microphone and stop when the call ends.
