How do I manage my emails and account data?
Control your notices, change your sign-in email, or close your account and remove your personal details.

Turning off or tweaking your notices
Every email notice comes with a one-click unsubscribe link for that particular kind—use it to turn off just that type of message. If you'd rather pick and choose, head to /account/notifications to see the full list and adjust how often each one lands in your inbox.
A few notices always come through: receipts, refunds, payment troubles, listing holds and security alerts. These are kept running so you stay in the loop about what matters.
Switching to a new sign-in email
You change it yourself at /account/email: enter the new address and your password, then press the button in the two emails we send, one to each address. When both are confirmed your sign-in email changes, other browsers are signed out and we confirm it to the old address. If you have lost access to your current inbox, send a request from /help and we check it is you.
Closing your shop or wiping your details
To close your account, open /account/privacy and pick 'Close your account'. Nothing changes until you have seen what will happen and confirmed with your sign-in email and password. Your listings are unpublished, your personal data is removed and you are signed out everywhere. This cannot be undone and paid listings are not refunded; your statutory rights are not affected.
One more thing: /account/privacy has a Download my data button that builds a zip of your account, listings, orders and invoices.
The law requires us to keep invoices for a set period, so those stay. /privacy sets out how we handle personal data.
Questions people ask

- Yes. Receipts, refunds, payment issues, listing holds and security alerts always go through, no matter what you choose in your notification settings.
- What happens when I close my account?
- You close it yourself at /account/privacy with 'Close your account'. Your listings are unpublished and your personal data is removed; invoices are kept for as long as the law requires. It cannot be undone.
- Can I change the email I use to sign in?
- Go to /account/email, enter the new address and your password, and confirm from both inboxes. Once both are confirmed the sign-in email changes and other browsers are signed out.
