It provides sentence-level control over translations, maintains glossaries and styleguides that carry across projects, and includes Literess, an AI literary editor with cross-document memory. What is the difference between Standard and Pro mode?
Standard is fast and accurate for most content. Pro mode uses a more capable model that keeps more nuance, tone, and voice, and costs 3× the credits. Pro is recommended for novels, marketing copy, or content where the writing itself matters.
What file formats can be imported and exported?
You can upload DOCX, EPUB, Markdown, TXT, or PDF files, and import directly from Notion or Google Drive. Exports go back to DOCX, Notion, Google Docs, or Markdown, with an EPUB exported as the same e-book and PDF coming in as plain text.
Is the free plan truly free with no credit card required?
Yes. The free plan includes 5,500 credits per month with no card required and access to every mode including Pro. This provides approximately 11 pages translated and proofread on Standard, or about 5 with Pro. All core features including glossary, styleguide, QA, and Literess with 10 free messages are included.
How does Literess remember preferences between documents?
Literess keeps up to 20 notes per account and draws on your projects, preferences, glossary, styleguide, and past translations. You can tell her your preferences once and she will apply them to subsequent documents within the same account.
Is customer content used to train AI models?
No. Transept does not run its own models, and the commercial AI APIs used do not train on prompts or outputs. Content is stored in the EU and removed when you delete your account.
