Slot & Shaft
Design DIY furniture from aluminum extrusion, resize it in 3D, and get a parts list that matches the model
A design studio that lets you configure aluminum extrusion furniture in 3D and generates matched parts lists linked to US sellers.
About this launch
Slot & Shaft is a design studio for furniture built from aluminum extrusion and linear shafts. You pick a design like a desk or table, set its dimensions (width, depth, height) to the centimeter, and the site shows a 3D model and generates a parts list with exact cut lengths. Every part in the list links to a US seller, and all dimensions appear in both metric and inches. The site sources part data from manufacturer drawings and checks every design against fit rules before listing it, labeling designs as AI drafts until they are physically built and verified.

Shopper questions
Do you sell aluminum extrusion?
Not directly yet. The site designs furniture and generates parts lists with links to US sellers. Pre-cut kits are planned, and you can join a waitlist on any project to be notified when they become available.
Will the parts actually fit together?
The parts list is generated from the same design data as the 3D model, and every design passes fit rules checking lengths, hardware, and slot compatibility before it is listed. Designs not yet physically built are labeled as AI drafts.
What tools do I need?
For bracket-based frames, you mostly need hex keys that match the bolts on your parts list. The button-head bolts specified take a 4 mm hex key for M6 bolts or a 5 mm hex key for M8 bolts.
Are measurements in metric or inch?
Metric. The profiles are metric sizes like 3030 and 4040, and every dimension also appears in inches.
Do I need an account?
No. You can browse designs, configure them, and share design links without an account. You only need to sign in with an email code or Google to post a build.
