The app also offers open-source AI skills that allow Claude Code and other agents to generate diagrams automatically.

What is the difference between SimpleDiagrams Desktop and Cloud?
SimpleDiagrams Desktop is a one-time purchase for macOS that works offline. SimpleDiagrams Cloud is a coming-soon subscription service for live diagrams and team collaboration. The products do not currently interoperate, and diagrams cannot be imported, transferred, or synced between them.
How long is the free trial?
SimpleDiagrams Desktop offers a 7-day free trial with download from the website, with no card required. The Mac App Store edition has no trial. SimpleDiagrams Cloud plans include a 7-day free trial.
What shape libraries are available?
Free shape libraries include AWS Networking & Content Delivery (22 shapes), Google Cloud (42 shapes), Energy (batteries, solar panels, power plants), and more for value stream mapping, networks, and education.
Can I use AI to create diagrams automatically?
Yes, SimpleDiagrams offers two free, open-source skills for Claude Code and other AI agents. The Diagram Skill automatically creates diagrams from descriptions, and the Sketch-style Shape Skill generates custom sketch-style SVG shapes.
