HandFonty is a free online font maker that lets you draw your own handwriting or calligraphy and convert it into professional vector fonts. You create a font by drawing each letter in its cell, refining the spacing and outlines, then downloading the result as OTF or TTF files that work on Mac, Windows and in design tools. The tool supports multiple brush styles including pen, marker and fountain-nib for calligraphy, with adjustable smoothing that works even with a mouse. You can save up to three versions of each letter and create custom ligatures, and all fonts you create are yours to keep and use commercially.

Shopper questions

How do I transform my handwriting into a font?

Create a font, draw each letter in its cell with a mouse, finger or stylus, refine the spacing, then download the font as OTF or TTF. Most people finish the 52 letters in about twenty minutes.

Is HandFonty a free font maker?

Yes. You can draw, refine and download your handwriting font for free.

Can I make a calligraphy font?

Yes. Use the fountain-nib or marker brush and draw each character in your own style; whatever calligraphy or hand lettering you write becomes the font.

Is the finished font a real vector font?

Yes. OTF and TTF files use vector outlines, so your letters stay sharp at any size on Mac, Windows and in design tools.

Who owns the font?

You do. The font is made from your strokes only; the gray reference letters are just guides and are never included in the file.
