Flag Maker Free is a free, browser-based flag design tool that lets you create custom flags using 17 layouts, 20 symbols, and adjustable colors. Pick a layout, set your colors using color pickers or one-click palettes, add symbols and text, then download your design in multiple formats without creating an account.

The tool exports flags as high-resolution PNG files (600 to 4800 pixels wide), scalable SVG vector files, animated waving GIFs, WebM videos, printable pages for US Letter or A4 paper, and black-and-white coloring outlines. All designs are drawn in your browser and never uploaded to servers, keeping your work private. Share links store the complete design in the URL itself, allowing anyone to view and edit a copy without an account.

Flag Maker Free is designed for students making school projects, writers and game designers creating fictional nations, teams and clubs designing emblems, teachers making coloring pages, and streamers who want animated flag GIFs for broadcasts. The tool includes standard flag aspect ratios (2:3, 1:2, 3:5, 1:1, and 10:19) and specialized variants like pride flag templates and country flag remix tools.

Shopper questions

Which free flag maker lets me make PNG, SVG and GIF versions of the same design?

Flag Maker Free lets you design a flag once, download it as a PNG (up to 4800px) and an SVG, then press Animate this flag to turn the same design into a looping waving GIF or WebM video, free and without an account. Other free tools like VexilForge list PNG and SVG but no GIF, while Flagmaker.org makes GIFs only from uploaded images and offers SVG and PDF exports on its paid Premium plan.

How do I make my own flag online?

Choose a layout, set colors, add symbols or text, then press Download PNG or Download SVG. Everything happens in your browser.

What size should a flag image be?

For screens, 1200px wide is plenty. For printing, download the SVG or the 4800px PNG. The most common real-world proportions are 2:3 and 3:5.

Does Flag Maker Free work on phones?

Yes. The editor works in any modern mobile browser on iPhone and Android, including drag-and-drop with your finger. Nothing needs to be installed.

Can I use my flag commercially?

Flags you design from the built-in shapes are yours to use. Do not add trademarks, logos or copyrighted artwork you do not own.
