Chalk is a native macOS drawing app designed for the 'just one quick sketch' moment. It provides a zero-friction way to visualize thoughts with no accounts, setup, or publish-and-share flow needed.

The app is local-first, with every board saved as a file in your library and autosaved as you draw. You can paste screenshots onto a board to annotate them with arrows, boxes, text, and freehand tools, then copy the result as PNG directly to your clipboard.

Chalk integrates with AI assistants including Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, and VS Code through Model Context Protocol (MCP). These optional AI features run through your own subscription and Chalk doesn't host an AI service or proxy prompts. You can ask Claude or Cursor to draw flowcharts, sequence diagrams, mind maps, or UML diagrams that land in Chalk ready to refine.
