What is self-reported revenue?

Share a month of revenue on your listing. It always carries the self-reported label and the reporting date.

About revenue figures

Some founders like to be open about their numbers, and Launch It Online lets you add one month of revenue in US dollars. Leaving it out is fine. Every figure is labelled self-reported, as it is not audited by us. Owners report the figure themselves, as can listing managers.

At /account/revenue

The form lives at /account/revenue (sign in first). Pick the company, type the amount, choose the month it covers, then press the button to report it.

The label

Visitors see the amount with the word self-reported, the month it covers and the date you reported it. The figure belongs to the company, not to one listing, so all of its listings show it. You will see the figure on the listing page and on the revenue leaderboard.

Month, amount, proof

The month must not be in the future and must fall within the last two years. Enter a positive amount. A proof link has to be a public https:// page, such as an open revenue dashboard. Our team can see the proof link - visitors cannot.

Verified vs self-reported

/leaderboards/revenue shows self-reported figures in their own table and never sorts them with verified ones. Reporting revenue adds no votes and buys no position.

History

The figure can be updated or removed at any time. Changes are logged in the listing's history, and our team can hide a figure if needed.

Getting your revenue verified

You can also have your revenue verified. The page is /account/revenue/verified, and it works for the owner of the listing or anyone who manages it. You can connect Stripe (a restricted key that only reads) or Paddle (an API key with Read boxes only). For PayPal, Lemon Squeezy, Gumroad or any other provider there is a statement upload: one file per month, PDF, CSV or a screenshot, 10 MB at most, checked by our team.

If the provider account plainly belongs to your company (its Stripe display name or statement text, or its Paddle checkout domain, matches your listing), it is verified as soon as you connect. If not, our team looks at it and lets you know.

The verified figure is the total of your verified sources for the last finished month. It is labelled verified, names each source, and says when it was last checked. While it shows, the self-reported figure does not; the two are never added together. On /leaderboards/revenue it appears in the verified table. Everything is shown in US dollars: other currencies are converted at the official ECB monthly average rate, and the figure notes the original currency.

We store a key encrypted and never show it again, apart from its last four characters. Connected sources are refreshed about once a day. To stop, press Disconnect at /account/revenue/verified: the figure is no longer shown, and you can delete the key on the provider's side too.

Questions people ask

Do you check the number?
Not the self-reported figure: it is shown as self-reported, with its month and date. For a figure we read or check ourselves, use verified revenue at /account/revenue/verified.
Can I report in euros or pounds?
No. Figures are entered in US dollars.
How far back can I go?
Up to two years back.
How do I stop showing verified revenue?
Disconnect or remove the source at /account/revenue/verified. Its figure is taken down; delete the key with your provider as well.
