Polychrome Computer helps songwriters work out chords from melody. Sing or hum a melody into your microphone, and the tool detects the key by analyzing the sound. Once the key is identified, eight chords appear labeled by scale degree. You can then tap chord buttons to work out a progression that fits your melody, and switch between different voicings including sevenths, sus2, sus4, add9, first inversion, or no third. The tool works entirely in your browser, runs offline after the first load, and can be installed to your home screen like a calculator. No audio is recorded; it is analyzed frame by frame in memory and discarded as you work.

What it does

  • Eight labeled chords for the detected key
  • Chord voicing options including sevenths, sus2, sus4, add9, first inversion, and no third
  • Installable to home screen like a calculator
