About this launch
Gestalt is an iPhone app designed as a quiet, personal photo journal. It strips away the typical social media elements: there is no algorithm determining what you see, no ads, and no pressure to chase likes or engagement. Users post photos with optional accompanying words whenever inspiration strikes, not according to app notifications.
The app works offline and automatically uploads entries when reconnected. Each journal is entirely the user's own—there is no algorithmic feed, no noise from other users, and no incentive to post based on external pressure. Custom domains are available as an add-on feature, allowing users to host their journal on their own web address.
What it does
- Post photos with optional text
- Offline functionality with automatic upload
- No algorithmic feed
- Post on your own schedule
- Custom domain support
- No likes or engagement metrics
Shopper questions
How do I manage my subscription?
Subscriptions are bought and managed through Apple. To cancel or change your subscription, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Deleting your account does not cancel your Apple subscription; refunds are handled by Apple.
How do I report an entry?
Every entry on a Gestalt page has a menu with a Report option. You can also write to safety@stillgestalt.com. Reports are acted on within 24 hours.
How quickly are reports about non-consensual intimate images handled?
If you are the person in an intimate image published without consent, you can use the Report option on the entry or write to safety@stillgestalt.com with the entry's address, a statement that you are the person depicted and that the image was shared without consent, a way to reach you, and your typed name as a signature. The image and identical copies will be removed within 48 hours at most.
What happens if my account is suspended?
A suspended journal is hidden and posting stops. The account is notified by email. If you believe the suspension is a mistake, you can write to safety@stillgestalt.com. You can cancel your subscription in Apple's settings at any time.
