FabRapid 3D is a browser-based application for converting, compressing and viewing 3D models. It supports 71 input formats and 23 output formats across CAD, mesh, scene and 3D-printing workflows. All processing runs locally in your browser using WebAssembly, ensuring your models stay private and processing stays fast.
The tool detects file formats automatically and uses a star topology architecture where all formats convert to GLB as an intermediate format before exporting to your target format. It includes six conversion engines: Assimp for mesh and scene formats, OpenCASCADE for CAD files, Three.js Loaders for specialized formats, glTF-Transform for GLB processing, custom parsers for niche formats, and web-ifc for BIM files.
Every conversion happens in one browser session with the same model loaded throughout. You can drop a file, the browser detects its format, choose your target, and convert directly without uploading to any server.
