Chapbook is an AI writing platform that transforms a one-paragraph book brief into a complete nonfiction manuscript. Users describe their book's reader, promise, and voice, then approve a chapter-by-chapter outline before the AI generates content.

The platform produces up to 40,000 words of generated text, with users able to rewrite, expand or shorten each chapter as it's drafted. Chapbook provides three output formats: a typeset digital PDF with embedded fonts and clickable contents, an EPUB 3 file validated against EPUBCheck, and a KDP-sized cover JPEG at 1600 × 2560 pixels.

Users can add up to 10 sources as PDFs, text files or web pages, and the tool can cite sources inline and flag unsupported claims. The platform operates on a credit system with fixed prices shown before each action, and users retain full ownership of all generated files and can publish them anywhere under their own name and account.

Chapbook currently supports nonfiction only (lead magnets, workbooks, guides, newsletters and nonfiction books) in English at launch, with digital formats only.

Shopper questions

What do I see before I pay?

The complete outline, one drafted chapter of up to 2,500 words and a watermarked cover on the free plan's 60 credits. If the chapter does not read the way you want, you can change the brief or the outline and draft it again before subscribing.

How much of the book do I write myself?

You write the brief and make all decisions. You describe the reader, the promise and the voice, approve or rewrite the outline, and then read each chapter as it arrives to rewrite, expand or shorten what you want changed. The AI does the drafting chapter by chapter against your approved outline.

Can I bring my own notes and research?

Yes. You can add up to 10 sources as PDFs, text files or web pages. Extracting them is free; an AI summary of a source costs credits. Chapters can cite sources inline, and the read-through flags any claim that has no supporting source.

Who owns the finished book?

You do. The manuscript, the cover and the exported files are yours with no restrictions; Chapbook claims nothing and takes no cut. You can publish it under your own name, at your own price, wherever you like, though you must disclose AI-generated content when publishing on Amazon KDP.

What happens to my books if I cancel?

Everything you exported stays yours and downloadable, your manuscripts stay editable, and top-up credits keep working for AI actions. Only creating new clean exports requires an active subscription, but resubscribing restores this capability.
