About this launch

BPMKeyFinder is a free, browser-based audio analysis tool that detects BPM (tempo), musical key and Camelot code from audio files. All processing happens locally on your device using Essentia.js, so your music files never leave your browser and there are no privacy trade-offs.
The tool supports MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, AAC, OGG and AIFF formats. It provides tempo estimates, key notation in both standard musical notation and Camelot wheel codes, key strength scores, and the ability to share result links. Users can analyze one file at a time with no daily analysis limit and no account required.
Designed for DJs, music producers, and educators, BPMKeyFinder uses audio analysis powered by the Music Technology Group at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Results can be ambiguous for live recordings, sparse percussion, short clips or songs that change key, so users should verify by ear.

Shopper questions
How accurate is the analyzer?
The analyzer estimates tempo and musical key from the audio signal. Results can be ambiguous for live recordings, sparse percussion, short clips or songs that change key, so users should verify by ear.
Do my audio files ever leave my device?
No. All analysis runs entirely in your web browser. Files are never uploaded, stored, queued or cached on any server.
Which formats and track lengths are supported?
You can select or drop MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, AAC, OGG or AIFF files. Browser decoding support varies, and longer tracks use more memory, so shorter excerpts work better if decoding fails.
Can I analyze streaming audio or YouTube links?
No. The analyzer currently accepts local audio files only and cannot fetch tracks from YouTube, Spotify or other streaming URLs.
How does the share feature work?
After analyzing a track, you can generate a unique shareable link that encodes the analysis results in the URL using base64 encoding. The link contains metadata only, never your audio file, and anyone with the link can view the results without re-analyzing.
