Shopper questions
How does tap tempo work?
You tap in time with the music and the counter measures the gaps between your taps to calculate beats per minute. Half-second gaps mean 120 BPM, four taps give a usable number, and it becomes more accurate with more taps.
How many taps do I need?
Two taps show a number but it is unstable. From about four taps the reading holds still, and by eight it only changes if you intentionally change tempo. Stopping for three seconds starts a fresh count.
What does BPMcountR cost?
The app is free and includes tap counter, metronome with time signatures and accents, one setlist, and last three measurements. Pro is a one-time €9.99 payment that unlocks all features including Live Scan, File Scan, drum grooves, polyrhythms, practice timer, trainers, and more. No subscription or ads.
How do I find the BPM of a song?
Play the track and tap along on the beat you would count out loud. If the result is half or double what you expected, you may have tapped a different pulse. Both readings are correct and simply count the song differently.
How do I turn a tempo into a delay time?
A quarter note at 120 BPM lasts 500 ms. Other values follow from that: eighths half it, dotted eighths one and a half times, triplets two thirds. The note length calculator lists all values for any tempo.
